According to press sources, the Public Health Directorate of Brighton and Hove reports 112 confirmed cases of mumps so far this year (an increase over normal incidence), predominately in young adults in Sussex County. Brighton and Hove, a popular tourist destination, is most affected with an expected rise in the number of cases through the end of September. All travelers should be up-to-date on the MMR vaccine.
